Stripes Group Growth Equity Workshop
During this event hosted in collaboration with Stripes Group, students had the opportunity to learn from the experts in growth equity, network with professionals, and enjoy conversation with our partners at Stripes Group.
Our Startup Spotlight initiative aims to connect students with the innovative and successful new initiatives involved in our community by bringing in startup founders to share their stories, answer questions, and recruit.
As our first featured presenter in the Startup Spotlight series, our partners at SimpleBet presented on their rapidly growing sports betting enterprise. Students were able to hear their story, ask questions, and network with SimpleBet’s impressive data science team.
The Clear Cut
Through a visit from our partners at The Clear Cut, students learned about the diamond industry, consumer branding on social media, time management at early stages, fundraising, and the TechStars accelerator experience. Additionally, the founding duo discussed the experience of female founders and how men can be allies to fill the gender gap in entrepreneurship.
As Harvard’s largest student-run entrepreneurship and venture capital organization, we are proud to be involved with the i3 Innovation Challenge, Harvard’s premier student startup competition. The China Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition is one of the largest pitch competitions globally. Spanning 10 cities across 4 continents, it has become renowned for its enormous grand prizes and its worldwide opportunity and network building. We were excited to host The 3rd China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition in Boston this year! This competition awarded a sum of $16,000 to multiple winning teams and provided and all-expense paid chance to compete in Shenzhen at the global stage.
How to Break into VC Panel
Successful venture capitalists across all backgrounds came to campus to share their paths into VC and answer live student questions. The goal of this event was to demystify and debunk the myths about breaking into the VC industry, also while providing an accessible networking opportunity. The firms represented were Underscore VC, Flare Capital, Castle Island VC, Pillar VC, and OpenView Venture Partners.
